A friend asked me to do a set of placemats for her. She picked out the fabrics and asked me to make them reversible. She also requested the "diamond" quilting. To her that looked like what she felt quilting should be. So, here is the results. Since the fabric had gold designs throughout, I used gold embroidery thread for the quilting. She LOVED it and so did I. What do you think? One side is the red pointsettias, the other side is the holly & berries.
I've finished up Tablerunners and Pillow Cases. Still working on embroidered towels.
I've actually bought a new embroidery/sewing machine and haven't unpacked it yet. I want to finish the projects in the works right now before I get side-tracked with something else. I will do my best to post again before the holiday, but just in case, let me say it now: MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I came across a tutorial that said "Apron in one hour" so I looked at it. Decided to give it a try and this is the result.
It uses one fat quarter for the base of apron and 1/2 yard of the striped fabric for the ties and bottom border. Super easy, I do like it, but it is a plain square. I would like to add some shape to it so may try either adding a couple of pleats to the top or gathering slightly before adding the waistband.
The ties are long enough so you may be able to wrap around to the front and tie in a bow. I tried it and the bow ends up very small - LOL. So I would just tie in the back.
What do you think?

Here is my Pink - Pink bedroom, and I love it. Almost done just needs some finishing touches like pictures on the wall or a dried floral wreath. Just haven't decided what yet. Haven't put in hooks for the tiebacks yet either. My daughter, Betty, thinks I should use a color instead of the white tiebacks - something like a cranberry color. What do you think?
Angie, my furbaby, likes sitting up on the top of the tall bureau. She also likes laying on the other one so I put a pink towel there for her to lay on.
This room is going to be my exercise room eventually. Right now it's my tv/exercise room. The walls were painted a dark sage green on the bottom and a light sage green on the top and a floral border was added about chair rail height.
David, my son-in-law is in the upper picture. He has been doing all the heavy work around here. I am so fortunate to have such a great son-in-law. My grandsons have been helping with a lot of the cleaning too. Thanks guys!

Well, just got the Polka Dot Blocks from the swap. Layed out on the bed but couldn't fit them all on there. Not sure if I want to put - maybe white - sashing, or just stitch them together like this. Any thoughts? Should I mix the colors up more? I was trying to run colors diagonally.
I was thinking maybe the white with polka dots for sashing - would that be too much? Will probably use the black with polka dots for binding. Opinions?

Well, here is the little dress I made from Jelly Roll Strips and a T-Shirt. It was easier than I thought it would be. I have never used the elastic thread before so was a bit nervous about using it in the bobbin in my machine, but it worked out just fine. I will add a bow or a yo yo to decorate the neckline a bit.

Well, the thirty Polka Dot Blocks were done for the swap and sent out. My new blocks should be arriving any day now. I can't wait to see them! The lady hosting the swap was so funny. She and a friend decided, since it was a beautiful day, to set up tables outside and sort all the blocks. Well it got windy and she said all these bright colored blocks were flying all over. They had to gather them all up, sort into original stacks and then re-sort for the swap. I can just picture them flying all over the place..... LOL!
When I get mine, I will post a picture.....
